Biography
George Henry Beedham Bradley was born in 1870, the illegitimate son of Henry Beedham and Ellen Bradley, who married in 1873. According to the census records he used their two names as surnames, as did his sister Mary, his other siblings used Beedham only. All his children apart from the first were christened with both surnames.
His daughter Nellie was born in Burringham in 1907, one year after he met Percey Grainger there.
He seemed to have pursued a variety of occupations, but I suspect the brewer reference really means brewer's drayman.
Unlike others in his family George Henry remained in in an agricultural trade, working with horses as opposed to moving into Scunthorpe's growing steel industry. He lived in various streets around Scunthorpe, but never left the place.
