George Burton was born in Dilwyn in 1852, to William Burton (Agricultural Labourer) and his wife Catharine (nee Edmonds).
During the 1860s he was apprenticed to William Lewis in Dilwyn. He followed the trade for life.
He married Ann Addis in Dilwyn in 1878. They had four children. They moved to Weobley Marsh some time before 1881 and stayed there until the 1900s. Once their children had left home they moved back to Dilwyn.
Ann died in 1923, and George in 1933.
