John Bebb was born to John Bebb (Farm Labourer) and his wife Hannah (nee Pendree) in 1845 in Monkland Herefordshire. The family moved to Headland, Dilwyn in the 1850s. By 1871 he was a farm servant in Pembridge at Clear Brook farm.
He married Harriet Turner on the 23rd Oct 1873, in Dilwyn. By 1881 they were living in Yazor with their 2 daughters. John is a Farm Labourer. By 1881 they had moved to Weobley Marsh, where they stayed. In 1901 John is described as a Labourer on Highway/Road Labourer, presumably employed by the council as he was in 1911.
Harriet died before 1922, but John was there in the census, still a roadman at 70. He died in 1922.
He gave Ella Leather 3 songs in 1904, which were transcribed by Frank Gwilliam.
